Protopak Engineering Corporation produces:
  • Shipping label stock meet Mil-PRF-61002.
  • Military Shipping Labels in accordance with MIL-STD-129, Rev. P.
  • These labels include:
    2D bar coding in accordance with ISO/IEC 15438, ISO/IEC (ANSI M10.8.3) and DoD 4500. 9-R and
MSL linear ( code 3 of 9 or code 39) bar coding in accordance with ISO/IEC 16388.
  • All shipments of packaged material to the government which include either Depot (DLA-direct) or DVD (Customer-Direct) shipments, both DoD linear and two-dimensional (2D) bar code markings are required on Military Shipping labels in accordance with MIL-STD-129, Revision P, dated December 15, 2002.

  • Labeling and marking not only need to be in accordance with MIL-STD-129, Revision P., all the text and encoded information must be accurate. If the information is incorrect the items being shipped could be sent to the wrong government location. Once a mistake occurs and is detected, the owner of the shipped contents is notified and given the options to either come to the facility and correct all the labeling and have it reshipped to the correct location at the owner’s cost, or have government people do all the work needed to fix the problem for $ 85.00 an hour for a minimum of 8 hours. If the mistake is for a large shipment consisting of many pieces the amount of hours needed will grow significantly resulting in greatly reduced profits to the owner. The owner will also not get any payment from the government until the items are shipped to the correct location.
  • Bar code print quality meets ANSI MH10.8-2000 or ANSI x3.182-1990 (R2000) for applicable 2D and /or linear bar codes.
